Ortlieb
25 years ago, Hartmut Ortlieb began manufacturing waterproof bags for outdoor activities. Thus, water and other former enemies became rather mere companions of the hiker or cyclist during their trips. The day ended with the absolute security that documents, spare clothing, camera or map would stay completely dry no matter what the weather had been. After two decades, Ortlieb has become a leading company in its area, always followed by imitators. Apart from high-quality bags - including the well-known bicycle panniers - Ortlieb has diversified, producing now also products focused on the urban user or on other outdoor activities. In 2004 the company has also begun producing rigid polycarbonate cases for safe transport of personal or fragile material, for example photo equipment.
